All assumptions, exclusions and sources

Estimated current-car changeover is the EV after-tax pay impact minus estimated current running costs. Current loan repayments, sale proceeds, finance settlement, upfront charges, depreciation and EV residual are excluded from that difference. EV running costs are editable assumptions. This is ongoing cash flow, not total ownership saving.

For manually entered current-car budgets, comparison is ongoing cash flow only, based on entered running costs and loan repayments. It assumes these payments stop when you change cars. EV residual, depreciation, current-car sale proceeds, outstanding finance settlement, upfront charges and total ownership costs are excluded. Existing loan payments may end before the EV lease. A lower ongoing payment is not a guaranteed saving.

Estimated running costs only: fuel or electricity, comprehensive insurance, registration including compulsory cover, routine servicing, maintenance and tyres. Finance repayments, depreciation, purchase/sale costs, major repairs, parking and tolls are excluded. These are editable XOLT planning assumptions, not quotes or an exact vehicle match.

Australian resident employee, full 2% Medicare levy, no Medicare levy surcharge, tax offsets, other income, deductions, benefits or existing salary packaging. Salary excludes superannuation.

Conditional on a qualifying battery-electric or hydrogen fuel-cell car first held and used on or after 1 July 2022, no luxury car tax payable on its sale/import, and an employer offering salary packaging. New plug-in hybrids are excluded.

Assumes an eligible lease commences before 1 April 2027. Announced later FBT changes require a fresh eligibility check. Tax settings are held at 2026–27 rates across the term: this is a constant-rules illustration, not a forecast.

8% interest, $3,500 annual running costs and $360 annual fees are editable illustrations, not market averages or provider quotes. Running costs include electricity, registration, insurance, servicing and tyres; replace with your own combined budget.

Vehicle price excludes registration and stamp duty. These, establishment costs and other upfront charges must be added separately. GST recovery defaults to zero; only enter a credit confirmed by the provider. Running costs and fees are the same gross cash budget with no assumed GST recovery.

Residual is the ATO minimum percentage of the GST-inclusive vehicle price, paid from after-tax funds. It is not a guaranteed resale value. Actual contracts and GST treatment must be checked.

The EV lease-versus-cash ownership comparison ends with the same EV sold at the same editable resale value. Cash purchase has no borrowing costs or investment opportunity cost. Lease cost includes residual and fees. Insurance and operating costs are constant. Early termination, excess costs and future rule changes are excluded.

XOLT provides indicative guidance, not a finance offer or personal tax advice. XOLT may receive a referral commission if you proceed with a provider; the provider and commission arrangement must be disclosed before your details are shared.
